With a production value of 208 million euros, Ciclat Trasporti Ambiente records a further revenue increase of 4.4% compared to the previous year. “The positive performance in 2023 – explains Cesare Bagnari, Chief Executive Officer – was influenced by two factors: more profitable rates and higher volumes. The increase in rates actually had only a marginal impact because it became necessary following the sharp rise in production costs, particularly fuel and labor, while volumes certainly had a greater impact.”
This is true both for the transportation sector, favored by the global production recovery that occurred in 2023 and which is still linked to the market momentum that followed the pandemic (43 million euros in revenue), and for urban sanitation where Ciclat Trasporti Ambiente has consolidated its portfolio (138 million euros in revenue). “A significant increase occurred in Tuscany where the companies L’Orologio, Cristoforo, Margherita+, Progetto Ambiente and Zoe managed to respond to a service request from Alia (environmental services management company in Tuscany). The new services required investments and infrastructure that, thanks to the expertise and flexibility that this group of companies has built over many years of work in the region, we were able to ensure. There was also an increase in services and, therefore, volumes in Romagna.”
From the perspective of financial indicators, the increase in margins and the structural efficiency improvements pursued in recent years have enabled Ciclat Trasporti Ambiente to further raise its gross operating margin (EBITDA), now at 4.4 million euros, and to rely on a negative net financial position of 1.7 million euros. These values, which indicate strong financial stability, are in addition to the further increase in equity, which rose from 15 million euros in 2022 to over 17 million euros in 2023. “We are satisfied with the consolidation of the structure and performance. With this level of equity, the margins set aside as reserves, and the current bank rating, we believe there are grounds to review the cooperative’s capitalization policy in the coming months,” concludes Bagnari.
