Over the last 5 years, environmental services have seen a significant increase. Ciclat Trasporti Ambiente is among the leaders in Italy for waste collection, management, and transport activities and has a deep-rooted presence in many regions. This leadership has allowed the cooperative to consolidate its know-how in the service of the environment and today enables it to maximize its potential thanks to project financing opportunities. “We are looking at new ways of collaborating with contracting authorities. Project financing allows us to present ourselves to public administrations as entities capable of building something that goes beyond the mere execution of a service,” explains Francesco Agostini, Head of the Urban Waste Area. “We are already working to propose structured projects including infrastructure, services, and a financial plan to various administrations.”

Once projects are accepted, the public administration can launch a public tender to find the executing partner, but the proposing entity has the right of first refusal: “As it is structured, the procedure facilitates those who build the project,” explains Agostini. “A further advantage is the duration of contracts linked to project financing, which ranges from 10 to 15 years. This feature is closely linked to the quality of the project and the type of investments planned.”

It is precisely the quality of the services provided and a continuously improving structure that are the drivers behind the cooperative’s constant growth. Its presence in historical areas, primarily Sardinia and Emilia-Romagna, has further consolidated, and this has been positively reflected in the market: “We have seen an increase in services in Basilicata and have entered Campania for the first time, in a small municipality in the province of Benevento,” adds the Manager. “The reference partner for Campania is C-Zeta, and together with them, we are studying this new territory and its potential.”

The skills acquired by Ciclat Trasporti Ambiente, both in the field of waste collection and in plant engineering, are also thanks to an attentive and evolving social base: “We note a strong desire on the part of all members to structure, improve, and organize the company in line with market needs. This,” he concludes, “is giving us great satisfaction from a corporate perspective, but also and above all from a sustainability standpoint, with very high separate waste collection percentages and high, well-regarded service efficiency.”
